El pasado 25 de mayo Spainbirds y SEO/BirdLife organizamos una salida para un máximo de 8 personas para intentar ver alondra ricotí en las parameras segovianas. Aunque nos costó ver a esta esquiva especie (no suele ser de otra manera), todo el mundo tuvo la oportunidad de disfrutar con unas buenas imágenes a través de los telescopios. A los dos minutos de estar cantando sobre una piedra, y parcialmente cubierto de vegetación, el macho de alondra ricotí que teníamos localizado bajó al suelo para desparecer entre la maraña de rocas y tomillos. Pudimos oír al menos tres machos casi al unísono, cantaron también tímidamente por la tarde antes de nuestro regreso a Madrid, pero tan sólo pudimos ver un ave en todo el día.
En los secos y pedregosos valles circundantes también pudimos observar roqueros rojo y solitario, escribano hortelano, curruca mirlona y bisbita campestre. Otras especies detectadas ese día fueron águila real, alimoche, chova piquirroja, curruca tomillera, collalbas rubia y gris, oropéndola, mosquitero papialbo y papamoscas gris.

On 25th May Spainbirds and SEO/BirdLife organized together a trip for a maximun of 8 participants to see the elusive Dupont's Lark in the fields of the Segovia pronvince. Although it took us a while before seeing the first and only Dupont's Lark of the day we all had good scope views of a male singing for a couple of minutes, after that he moved down and disapeared into the rocks and low bushes. We mananged to hear at least three males at the same time, even we heard them again in the afternoon before driving back to Madrid, but unfortunately we never located them again.
In the stony and dry nearby valleys we also saw Blue and Rufuous-tailed Rock Thrushes, Ortolan and Rock Bunting, Western Orphean Warbler and Tawny Pipit. Some other birds recorded that day were Golden Eagle, Egyptian and Griffon Vultures, Red-billed Chough, Spectacled Warbler, Northern and Black-eared Wheatears, Golden Oriol, Bonelli's Warbler and Spotted Flycatcher.
